As trusted counsel to the GM of AC Transit, provided consultation and facilitation with him and the Executive leadership team on an Organizational Direction Setting and Performance Management initiative. The intent was to create a 2-year strategic initiative, create a performance management process, drive performance and an accountability mindset throughout the organization. Additionally, ISI provided consultation to the Chief of HR and the Chief of IT in devising a customized performance management instrument as well as selecting an electronic performance management solution. Further assistance included integrating the manual form into the electronic system. ISI then trained all management and supervisory staff at all levels on all aspects of performance management, including preparing reviews, writing reviews, delivering reviews, development planning and dealing with underperformers.

An adjunct effort in year two involved ISI conducting a nation-wide training and development assessment of other transit properties to ascertain best practices across the industry in the areas of leadership, performance management processes, succession planning, blended learning initiatives, success metrics in the area of training and development, budget allocations, career pathing, etc. With efficiency and effectiveness in mind, learning and development recommendations were then provided to the executive team and the Board of Directors.
